Sharpshooter
by David Thiel and Sheree Zielke Wow! What a great book! This book is an ocean of information on getting the most out of your CT. Yes, there is a how-to on executing the physical requirements. David shows you his version. But that's just the beginning. He goes into great detail on what to do with the spectator's thou**t once you have it. It's a great body of knowledge and advice on how to get that knowledge yourself. He details the main tools used in rea*ing your participant: col*d, wa*m, bo*y lan***ge. There is a list of books and websites for continuing study. Or for a zero-experience rea*er like me that would be foundational study after digesting his book. As a student wandering around, wondering what to do first, second and third, this book is exactly what I need. It's all in there. When David Thiel speaks, I listen. And I intend to follow his advice. If I can do that, I'm confident I'll become an effective and believable mentalist. Thank you, David! Buy this book. Read it. You won't regret it. P.S. I don't know David and never have met him or spoken with him. We have no business relationship. We've had a couple short email exchanges. In those short emails he has poured out his experience and knowledge of mentalism to me. I'll bet many of you have had the same experience with him. You've likely seen his posts here generously giving away the path he has taken to becoming a highly-skilled mentalist. I've nick-named him the "hardest-working man in mentalism". Maybe it'll catch on. (I hope it's ok with him.) You can feel his apparently boundless enthusiasm and energy for the Art of mentalism in all he writes. And I understand Sheree played an indispensible role in this work. I also loved his book Secret Assistant. It's a wonderful guidebook all about the NW. A generous and relevant pro like David should be supported. |

Thank you very much for your thoughts and kind words. I appreciate them very much.
Sharpshooter was the book that grew and grew. I was intending just to share my CT and maybe a couple of tips on how to handle the reveal so it has more impact. Initially it was going to be two books: one on the CT and the second on my ideas for "circling" (which I discussed in my MindVention lecture) and building strong reveals into every routine. But it just kind of blended into one book...because Sharpshooter and the techniques I use are applicable to all other routines as well. This is one of my favourite books...and my absolute favourite routine. Thanks for your review, friend. You are very kind. David
