Back in the beginning of 2020, I ordered tickets for the November 2020 Rhode Island Comic Con. Having gotten a rather hefty bonus, I threw caution to the winds and ordered VIP tickets! Obviously, 2020 Comic con did not happen. We were told the tickets would be viable for a proposed merging of Comic Con with "Fear Con" in June of 2021. This didn't happen either. Now it got interesting.
Ticketmaster insisted that the con in June was still happening. I wrote them that there WAS no con in June, and that I never received the tickets I needed. I went to their website and found "Fan Support." "Fan Support" consists of a page of FAQs that you have to go through to find out if your question has been asked before. Then you're supposed to go to the "ticket history" find your tickets and click on "contact us" to send them an e-mail. I did this and received notification that a manager would be looking it over. The next message I received was; "We've looked over your problem and there's nothing we can do. Please don't contact us again." I tried our local news outlet, which handles consumer concerns, but they never got back to me. So, I pulled out the big guns. I went to the Better Business Bureau. I got a notice from them that they'd filed an action with Ticketmaster, and that Ticketmaster had until September 21 to answer. I got a phone call from Ticketmaster today (Aug 18). They were VERY sorry, the tickets were still valid and, if I wanted, I could have them delivered and, of COURSE it's OK that my address has to be updated. (On their webpage, one of the things they pointed out was that you couldn't change your address from the address on your charge card that you bought the tickets with. As I'd just moved, that would have been problematic) So now, I am in possession of an e-mail from Ticketmaster verifying that my tickets WILL be sent to my NEW address, and they should arrive in October! Some times, you have to stop playing nice.

The BBB can be bought off with a small fine to restore a companies rating. Surprised they jumped.
I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

Good for you, Ed. I, too, didn't think the BBB would be that effective.

It possible Ticketmaster thought giving me three tickets that they already had on record was just easier than trying to bribe the BBB.
And, yeah, Arthur, I was surprised at how fast they reacted as well.

So you think the BBB is the "big guns"?
Next time save yourself some trouble. Find a phone number. There almost always is one. If you just call 1-800-653-8000 they can help you and a live person will solve your problem rather quickly. The people answering those online requests are just not able to help at all. Get to a live person. I am not surprised they jumped. If they get enough complaints they lose clients. With online ticketing solutions they no longer have the almost monopoly they used to. In the end all they want is to get you your tickets. They are an easy company to work with when you get to a person and not an email. The email folks have NO latitude to actually solve problems. Glad it worked out.

It took me 2 seconds. Literally. I've called before and it took me 2 seconds.

My wife is an expert at getting results. If she can't find a company's phone number online, she calls the corporate offices and tracks it down that way.

I will tell you one thing. Getting to an actual person with a problem and a polite tone will almost invariably get you far better resolution to your issue than silly threats of the "big guns" from the BBB.
Yes often it is an extra step or two in this day and age to get live help it is always worth it. In this case it is particularly easy to get the information. They want you happy. They really do. It is just that nobody has really invented an email customer service department that works well that I have run into. I'm sure they exist.

They want you happy. They really do. Well...yes, but at their price. And often their price doesn't include sufficient customer service. If they really wanted me happy, they'd have a dedicated easily available well-staffed phone crew, ready to take my calls and questions. It used to be that way in many companies, now of course that has gone the way of the horse and buggy. The support staff that's left is usually under-trained and way overworked. Economics, competition, I get it. Anyway, my go-to action to find a live human being is always to call the sales dept. For some reason *they* always are well-staffed and pick up quickly with a live human being and no waiting. Then I tell them my problem and if I'm lucky they patch me through to someone who can help.

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Seems as if tommy found it pretty easily. Also they have a live chat 24 hours a day.
