Hi Mary: I know you've explained this before but it seems I'm having coffee cup color problems. My understanding is that if new posts come in since my last visit, the cup turns red. The problem I'm having is that they stay red even after I have read all the posts in all the menus and logged out. Some of them for example, I read on Friday and have definetely shut down my browser and computer since then. Sunday morning when I logged in, the cups are still red. Not a major problem, just means I have to scroll through all the topics and look for the dates of the last post to see if anything new has arrived. Could this be another anomoly of using IE?

Dave

Never mind, Mary. I think I found the problem. I went in and deleted all the cookies and then went back to the Café. Seems like the cups act the way they should now. I think it has something to do with having to click on the keep me logged in block for IE. I'll just remember to go in and delete cookies each day unless you have a different thought.

Hi Dave,

I think it may have something to do with IE6 - I don't have that browser, so I can't really say for certain. I guess if you've found a workable solution, you should stick with that until Gene and I can figure something out. Smile

Hey Mary and Gene! Is there any way, as in the past, to get rid of red mugs without actually clicking on each thread?

Did I ever tell you that you guys rock?!

Sorry, Burt, not on this version. Gene's working on that for the new forum scripts, though. Something to look forward to.

Rick and Dave, the only thing I know to try to get the red cups to work right in IE6 is lower the security settings so the browser accepts cookies the way it needs to here. A friend had the same kind of trouble on his board, and he said he fixed it by lowering the security settings.

Thanks Mary, but since I've found out that the solution is simply to check the keep me logged in box, it really isn't necessary to lower settings or mess with anything else. I'm content to wait for the upgrades that you and Gene are working on so hard.
