This is a sandwich trick I made up.
Effect: 2 cards are selected by 2 specs. They are lost in the deck. 2 jokers are shown and placed on top of the deck. The deck is cut and the cards are spread. The 2 jokers are seen to have trapped the first selection. The card is lost in the deck. The magician says " Now the jokers will trap the 2nd selection " . The magician lines up the 2 jokers and swipes them through the deck like a credit card. The magician spreads the jokers to show they have trapped a card in between them. The magician turns it over to reveal the 1st selection. The magus now is frustrated that the 2nd card didn't appear between the 2 jokers. The magician then just tells the spectator who picked the 2nd selection to look through the deck and find their card. To her amazement it isn't in the deck! The magician then says " The reason you're card isn't in the deck is becaues it is in my wallet! " The magician opens his wallet and pulls out the 2nd selection.

When the jokers are spread for the second card, your credit card should appear between the jokers, allowing you to go for your wallet. Having said that, I haven't a clue how I'd sell this routine. Off the top of my head, if the second spec was a girl, you could play up the fact that although it wasn't her card, it was her "type" of card, etc...

One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.
