Can anyone tell me about "Stuck In Time"? It's the routine with an hourglass and two ring boxes. I was thinking about purchasing it, but it seems a little expensive. Is it worth it?

I watched Tom Yurasits demo this routine about 4 or 5 times at the IBM Convention this past week. I thought it was a great routine, and all of the props pack nicely in a handsome wooden box.
When I read the routine description some time ago, I was curious about whether the spectator could actually touch the hourglass. After watching the routine, the spectator indeed is the one who turns it over and starts the timer. If I didn't already have 2 ring routines to alternate in my show. I would add this one in a heartbeat. Who knows...maybe I still will. |

The sand falls very quickly and the ring is visible in approximately 2 seconds. With proper misdirection, it's not a problem. However, I wish it were slower. Has anybody figured out a way to slow down the timer?

I'm also wondering wwhy this was moved from "Boxes, tubes, & bags." It's described as "topics on living room type magic(tricky bottles, change bags, linking rings, etc)."
Not that I really mind, but I'm relatively new to the Café and it would be helpful to know why this was moved so I'll post in the right forum. I know the ititial post is asking for a review, but it also fits into "boxes, tubes, & bags" based on the description, doesn't it? Thanks. |

When asking for a review of a trick (DVD, Book, etc.) post in the review section. When discussing your handling of a trick post in the appropriate section.
Otherwise, excellent effect using a well built prop.
