I tried doing a search before posting this.
My post count has started dropping. It was around 2990, now down to 2973. Just didn't know why. Am I being penalized for some reason?

If you posted in a topic that was removed for some reason, your count would naturally go down. Also, if your post was in response to someone else's post that was removed, yours would have been removed as well as it would no longer make sense.
Post count really doesn't matter once you reach 50 posts as there are no other benefits after that.
