I guess I should have introduced myself before just barging in and tossing my two cents into the fountain. Well, it's never too late.

My name is Carlo DeBlasio. At the time of this post I am 43 years of age. I have been a magician in one form or another for about 33 years. I was a part-time pro from 1986 until 2002 when I cast caution to the wind (along with any hopes of being wealthy) and became a full time professional. My other life experiences include 4 years active duty, and 2 years reserve duty in the Marine Corps, 17 years as a New York State Trooper, 2 Years as a financial consultant with Smith Barney, 2 marriages (1 successful, 1 not), 1 teenage daughter and 2 Rabbits (I understand the rabbits better than the teenager).

There you have it! I'm blunt, opinionated, sardonic, sarcastic, cynical, I LOVE magic and I love to laugh. You will either get me and like and respect me or you will hate me. Either way I'll solicit an emotional response. Isn't that what entertainment is all about?

So my heartfelt greetings to one and all.

Welcome aboard Carlo. Wow, 17 yrs as a trooper. Do they have a 20 yr retirement pension? I am a police officer of a mere 8 yrs (12 to go) and a birthday party/mentalism performer part time.

PS: One wife, 2 daughters, 1 dog, 1 cat and 1 rabbit.

PSS: Nice website.

Thanks Wayne! Figured if I wanted to be professional I should have a professional presence. The NYSP has 20 year retirement. I was an early retirement after blowing out a disk in a MVA. Still have an occasional bad day, but for the most part I'm just happy to still be drawing breath.

Magic is a great diversion from the stress of police work. Never loose sight of who you are, and what you do to pay the bills should never be the same as who you are. Too many cops have no other identity outside the badge. Good to see, you do Smile

Welcome! have a drink on me. Smile
The great trouble with magicians is the fact that they believe when they have bought a certain trick or piece of apparatus, and know the method or procedure, that they are full-fledged mystifiers. -- Harry Houdini
