I haven’t seen the tutorial but I am certain it will be excellent judging on what I have seen from the 1914’s previous releases.
Always so thorough with some really great takes on old and new ideas. Their attention to detail and those little added nuances make a huge difference imho Gaz. 😊 |

Lewis could you please let us know how many credit card slots the wallet has that can be used for creditcards without it interfering with the methods?
Thanks |

Lewis, thank you so much for your helpful description of the peek. And the switching feature sounds great as well. I ordered the Orphic+ yesterday; I can't wait to receive it!
Gaz, your assessment of The 1914 is spot-on. Their tutorials are second to none (I own most of their products). And Dee, Lewis, and Alexander are all fantastic teachers. |

This is very tempting and is definitely on my shopping list for this month. Along with their esp cards.

A query please. Do 1914 esp cards fit in this wallet ? I mean size wise - one or two cards.

Hey Lewis!
1st of all congrats! This must have been such an incredible amount of work! I really hope you’re enjoying seeing the fruits of all that labor. 2nd. I have a question about color. Do you plan on making these in any other colors in the future? Best, Brandon

After I buy that one as well of course I’d always choose brown over black, yet never remember to ask that question. Oy vey. Either way, I’m looking forward to this. The quality looks great based on what I can see. And historically the 1914 boys put out quality, so I don’t spect this to be no different. But brown...drool

I like the look of this wallet. It seems that the 1914 people are now beginning to compete against each other with rather similar products. First the Razor, then the Shadow and now the Orphic. They came out in a rather quick time frame. What's next? Is it Dee's turn to come out with another wallet that offers more peeks, different loads and an index?
I'm a bit afraid that these guys are putting out too many effects (albeit good ones) in too short of a timespan. Are they in danger of sliding towards the Sankey side in Craig Petty's Canadian Sanders to Sankey scale. Sanders being great, Sankey not so much anymore. I very much enjoyed the routine as well. I read a lot on the Café and post infrequently (133 posts in 10 years), but exchanges like this remind me why I don't post. I actually went back again to see what could be possibly "wrong" with your performance, and I know you don't need me defending you - but, I don't get it! Thanks for posting Craig - you made me think about another wallet!

Hey everyone, I am finally home from my gig and ready to answer these questions!
Hey dman11, both sides of the wallet are identical anyway, so all you need is the item to be switched in, and the item to be switched out. If I was doing a bill switch, for example, all I'd need to do is place a bill in the back of the wallet and I'm ready to begin. The design of the wallet also allows you to show both sides of it without anything flashing. If you wish to store credit cards in the outer pockets, both sides would need to match in order to do the switch convincingly. A simple tip is to go into any coffee shop and grab some loyalty cards. They are thin card stock and make perfect covers to put in front of your credit cards, making both sides match. Hi warren, the ID window has space for ID/driver's license and cash. Opposite that there are two large pockets, which combined could store around 10 credit cards. In mine I have two credit cards, and the rest of the space is occupied by billets, business cards, ESP cards, cash, etc. The outer pockets also comfortably fit two credit cards in each slot, meaning you could fit another 10 without interfering with the peek. For the switch however, you'd need to have both sides of the wallet matching. Hope that helps! Hi IMAGINACIAN, Yep, the Eclipse cards fit perfectly in Orphic and Orphic+. I carry 10 ESP cards comfortably in my Orphic, alongside everything else I need! chosen1, 252life, hey guys! I haven't planned to do a brown leather version of Orphic, but I haven't ruled it out for the future. If it does happen I don't imagine it will be any time soon... but who knows! Hi 453rob, Dee released Razor with Penguin Magic some years ago, and after developing, refining and redesigning his original wallet, it became Shadow which he released through his own company, The 1914. Orphic is my own wallet that I wanted to bring to the market, and whilst both are peek wallets, they each have clear distinctions, meaning we as performers have more to choose from when selecting what we want or need for our performances. There is no competition if both are on the same team Our releases are carefully curated to ensure we are only putting out what we believe to be worthy of your time and investment, as well as ours. Hopefully my answers help, thank you all for your kind words! |

Lewis, your thoughts on handlings, and mentalism in general, are worth the price of admission. The wallets almost a cherry on top. But it is one good looking cherry. As for releasing it in brown, when/if it comes out I suspect I’ll pick it up as well I seem to notice a lot of interest in brown wallets (I.e. SAW, Shadow) whenever they come out. Too bad it’s not cost efficient to have both as the norm, but understandable. Congrats on another great looking release from the reliable fellas at 1914

Thanks for answering my question, could you tell me if a slide is required for the card to wallet function ?

I too would like to know about the slide function. The wallet looks great but the no palm idea has been done a few times before notably by John Mendoza with the Bendix bombshell and also with Peter Scarlet's nice 'Pimpernel Notecase'.

I believe Craig Petty has demonstrated the no palm no slide needed card to wallet. It appears that the card of simply placed in the wallet boldly in front of spectators eyes yet the spectator has no idea that the magician has done it. Brand new method that's just genius. This wallet is like no other wallet ever.

I have a double ended wallet that does exactly that no palm to wallet switch. Had it 15 years or so, bought at Blackpool I can’t remember who makes it but it’s smaller in length but uses the exact same turnover move and ruse.
I also have the Bendix and Pimpernal note case that uses that ruse but not that turnover move Gaz. 😊 |
