I am currently developing a little bit of a routine that
necessitates pulling a golf club from a small bag. I figure I'll just simply glue a club head to an appearing cane, but there's a problem, my knowledge of appearing canes is that of an ignorant person. I don't need a flash appearance like most use it for, just pulling it out of a bag. I read the reviews for cheap ones and they're littered with anecdotes of personal injury and regret, I would rather not contribute to said testimony if I can avoid it. i would prefer that the prop doesn't achieve sentience and turn against me. (been there, done that) Also prefer plastic if possible to better avoid injury and oil. any tips and recommendations is welcome. |

Stick with the plastic for safety. Penguin Magic sells one (Black) for 15 dollars.

Fantasio goes step-by-step over how to create an appearing golf club from his silver appearing cane in his My Ideas DVD. It uses a kids toy golf set. You don't glue the club head on. Rather you cut a slot in the toy club head and use this to REPLACE the tip from the appearing cane. The black handle is actually painted on using plastic paint. A ring or small piece of electrical tape can be used to keep the cane compressed until you want it to open.
You will probably save a lot of headache by getting the DVD. You can normally find it for about $5. Penguin Magic is sold out but this is the one: https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S8069. |

Jeff Hobson also makes and sells an appearing golf club, although it is currently showing up on his website as out of stock. You might want to email him to see when he expects to have some more available.
https://www.hobsonschoicemagic.com/ You can see it action on one of the videos on this webpage: https://www.jeffhobson.com/golf.html |

Hobson:
Here he uses it as a sort of throw-away gag , but I think if it were produced out of a bag (egg bag/golf bag) it would make a nice surprise ending. . |

Here's the full clip for those interested,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuQUmL-WWAs Looks like jeff has a whole show devoted to golf, i guess for country clubs and the like. I've never seen so many trick golf clubs, even one with a knife in it, most be something getting that through airport security. |
