I have been able to easily and quickly throw a card into and out of back palm for a while now, but I can't seem to get the hang of backpalming multiple cards and producing them one at a time. I can backpalm a few cards, no problem, but I can't seem to pull one off at a time. I have the AOCM series, but even studying it from there isn't helping me. Anyone have any pointers?

Pull down toward the ground with your thumb rather than back toward your palm. Keep your other fingers as straight as possible. Clip the bottoms of the cards tightly with your pinky and ring finger.
Above all keep practicing... eventually, you will get the feel.

I would have to say get McBrides videos. They are the best out there.

Hello all

Well your certinaly welcome to your opinion but as the "Great one " Jeff Sheridan has been both My Friend& Teacher for Many years now & at one time was also McBrides teacher...so

I would highly recomend the Sheridan "Genius at work" DVDs as the Tops!! out there Today...when it comes to teaching "Real Card manipulation."

Darcy,
I have the McBride videos. I am still having trouble with this particular production, even after studying it on his video.

Michael Lee,
Thanks, I will check out the Jeff Sheridan stuff.

Danny the key to most card manipulations is practise and dedication. Backpalming a few cards is a good start, don't give up now. Practise the move slowly and watch what problems you are encountering. If it is the cards popping out of grip between the first and middle finger, simple replace the cards, and try again. You might also want to try doing it whilst holding the cards in BP with the other hand, just to get a feel for where each finger is.

Just keep working at it, it will eventually become easier...

One of the most common errors card manipulators make is that they try to do the manips and sequences without the cards being properly worked in. make sure your cards are worked in properly as it really does make a huge difference.

If you have worked in the cards well, then we will need to know which version of the card reproduction from backpalm you are doing. There are many different ways to acquire this and to help you, it would help to know which your trying to accomplish.

Try bending your fingers inwards a tiny bit...but not to much...that way you can get a good grip on the card with the thumb when you produce it.

Kevin hit it on the dot. Look at what your doing. Start out very slowly and softly. slowly pull the card from back palm. Let it clear the bottom 2 fingers first(pinky and ring), and then bring it over the top fingers. don't get frustrated with it. It took me a good month to get the hang of it.

Another tip is to not worry if to much of the card shows from the face of the palm. Get the hang of it first, then you can aim on holding less of the card.

When learning this production, practice with about 3 cards, and work your way up to more.
