From the Alakazam Creator Of The Year 2021 Craig Petty comes a brand new addition of our wallet series.
Playlist is not just a one trick pony. As with almost all of Craig's effects he has gone to town with this one. Craig has taken the idea of the free music download card (the type of thing you find in coffee shops are service stations) and created a 10 -15 minute close-up act out of them. This cleverly designed set allows you to perform match up effects, prediction effects, and even wild card style effects all with innocent looking music cards. Craig truly is a monster when it comes to creating effects that work in the real world with items that look organic. Playlist comes complete with all the custom designed cards and a full tutorial video where Craig teaches you a whole host of killer routines and applications. Plck up your Playlist today, add it to your wallet and prepare to amaze! https://www.alakazam.co.uk/playlist-by-c......gic.html Looks like another winner from Craig, I personally been having a lot of mileage from Alakazam's wallet series |

How can they say that its part of the wallet series - If you do the full 10-15 minute act there are over 20 cards to use.

Im not sure I’m feeling this. I love Craig and his work, but Why would you carry these in your wallet?
I haven’t seen anything like those cards since around 2008. I’ll pass on this one. |

With my Orphic I put ten cards on one side, ten cards on the other side and I’m set. However you use the cards you want for the routine you like. For example the bar code prediction uses 6 cards and is killer and a great opener. Hope that makes sense. |

People download music all the time so it’s a logical thing to have that makes sense. And they are modelled on actual cards that can still be found all over the place today. In fact the url on the cards takes you to an actual music download website. They key thing is they look legit. So even if people haven’t seen them it makes sense as to what they would be and that they would exist in the first place. Hopefully that makes sense!! |

Take two previous Alakazam releases, iDeck and The Gallery, have them mate and Playlist is the offspring.

I don’t think these look “organic” in any way shape or form, and it makes zero sense carrying them around in any context other than to show a trick.
I also don’t think that actually matters one bit any more, and still put my order in as it lends itself to some fun presentations, and Craig is a great creator that I’m sure will squeeze every wee bit he can out of these for us to consider.. |

Some of the cards act as Marked ESP Cards but instead of ESP Symbols they are music tracks. I find this makes presentations more emotive. Asking someone to think of a song brings back memories of the song and the video. They can even hear it in their head. You don’t get that with ESP Symbols. So there is a really strong hook that grabs people from the beginning! Hope that makes sense and thanks again. |

Maybe I’m doing it all wrong but every time I see a trick posted here everyone seems to overthink this stuff. Been in magic, performing magic for two years. I try not think about why I’m carrying something and explaining it to much. At least I find when I go out and perform nobody is really bothered by me bringing out something that doesn’t make sense. That said I could easily think for a minute and come up with 10 reasons why I have these cards. I truly feel like people miss out on some great magic because they overthink every little thing. But hey what do I know? I’m fresh into this world. I just try to have fun. It doesn’t matter if you bring out a turd, as long as you have excitement for it they’ll follow.
When it comes to any Craig Petty release we know he has worked it. You really can’t ask for more. Craig is out there killing it right now. Someone I look up to and I hope to oneday be a good as he is. Playlist looks amazing. Man I may get some heat for this but I feel like some magicians can benefit from going back, relearning some of the fundamentals of magic. Stuff probably forgotten over the years. Having fun being one of them. Be a magician, perform like a magician but stop thinking like one. Bought my playlist. Can’t wait to have fun with it!!!!!!! Chris James Gagliola |

Almost the same effect as "Socks" - just without the Socks. Which is nice.

Like I say it doesn’t matter one bit though. The only reason I commented was there that seemed to be a focus on this organic and familiarity with them in the marketing that I just don’t think is true, or relevant. Alakazam has a great release using Top Trumps with movies. This is something that most people have seen before and is natural in that sense. Then you have Directors Cut - who the hell carries a stack of movie posters on them? Nobody, and it’s totally unnatural (if you consider it that way). However, when you use them and perform it has no less of an impact as using Top Trumps. The only justification it needs is “I’m using these as they are interesting”. The same will be true for playlist and if alI was ever questioned on them (which I doubt I would be), I would just say I saw them and thought they would be interesting to use. I want to stress that none of this is intended to demean it at all, like I say I picked it up because I’m sure it will be a lot of fun and looks great. |

When I was showing people the finished product before release several people said that the bar code thing could be a stand alone trick. Which it probably could but I wanted to give massive value!! I think the principle behind the QR Code prediction will be used by other creators I. The future. It really is a unique and different way to deal with having multiple selections. Anyway thanks again mate!! |
