I demonstrated this 100’s of times at the weekend at Blackpool and even though the majority new the concept I still had to point out the secret element. I wasn’t shy in letting people play around with it and these are magicians that the majority know what they’re looking for. I check every single one before sealing up the box. If anything is off due to the machining it goes back and gets finished again. Hope that helps. Regards Craig |

Thanks Craig much appreciated. I remember seeing the matchbox penetration at Davenport’s back in the day when it 1st came out. Not knowing the secret back then as was new out, I along with other magicians there had no clue - even when we examined it. It’s often rare we get fooled as magicians and it’s always a joy when we do being able in a way to enjoy and appreciate magic as a layman and hopefully knowing how our audience feel.
I think what’s also a nice adaption to yours is a vertical and horizontal penetration with the kicker ending as well as being a modern take on the premise. |

Yep ditto, whilst there I also bought their black and white surprise and their demon brass bill to tube which was perfectly machined - the good old days hey.

I like the fact that when you penetrate the card box, the spec thinks there is a deck of cards in there and that's a good effect only to find out it's even more impossible when revealed its a block of wood. Same here. what if you penetrate some confectionery? Impressive but not remotely impossible. Then you reveal the metal block. Let's see, you bunch of Smarties. |

I think the kicker using polos and the genius in premise, is because people could think it’s a bit of a gag and non fooler as a coffee stirrer etc could technically go vertically and horizontally through a full pack of real polos… but then you hit them with the block. If it was done using solid sweets (as they see it) then technically a object wouldn’t go through say a pack of rolos. Yes would be impressive, but the play/jokey element with polos is what’s gets the laugh/entertainment then the kicker.
Little bit like the matchbox presentation, people assume in the matchbox are matches so technically there is nothing magical about a toothpick going through a matchbox with matches in, then you reveal with gives the wow and puzzle factor |

I'll let you know what works when I perform it.

Anything will work but the hole point 😉😉, is it going through all the Polos.
Otherwise why bother as that’s the gag and then the kicker. I agree it’s more of a puzzle and a collectors piece but that wouldn’t stop me buying it. I personally prefer the match box as I don’t want to keep messing around changing wrappers etc. I also like telling stories about things that we all used to use like matches etc Gaz.😊 |

I think that if you stick a needle down thru a roll of Rolos you not only lose the gag, but also run the risk of having someone say that they thought you were going to show all the candies were still perfectly intact. Which arguably may be a better trick.
Kind of bothers me a little that the brass cylinder is shorter than the tube. I realize it doesn’t matter but I guess I’m just used to the solid object filling the entire interior as with most every other version. Just one of those silly mind games and probably just me. Have to admit that it seems a bit like this solved a problem which didn’t exist. IMO Punct, Holy Wood and Joao's Metal Phone all brought something new to the table where I’m not convinced this does. It would be interesting to know if Lloyd's wife ever saw the matchbox version and what she might think of that one. I’m guessing she hasn’t. Having said all that I’m very pleased that Craig has put this on the market. It’s always nice to have options even if there may not be a real big need for this version other than to feed mine and others addictions. 😃 But that’s reason enough for me! |

I agree with you Bill, I too realise why the Polo packet is not full but would prefer it to completely fill the area.
Yes you wouldn’t being able to bring a few Polo’s out but that doesn’t bother me. Any gap in the size of the container to the solid brass block to me at least gives away a thought of the method. That thought maybe be flawed but I don’t like a layman to even have any where to back track, that’s why the cable tie was a bad idea for Lloyds video as although it wasn’t necessary I wouldn’t have filmed it without the needle/ solid rod etc. I realise Craig shows it differently but nevertheless it always has to be solid through solid with no spaces whatsoever but that’s just my opinion Gaz.😊 |

I bought this at Blackpool and have had nothing but really positive reactions from everyone I've shown it to. I also own Industrial Revelation, (which is also amazing) but Minted is more portable and I believe much harder for a spectator to stumble across the secret, because of its shape. I also want to give a shout out to Craig who, since I bought Minted, has provided me with excellent customer support and help. I'd never met Craig before buying Minted at Blackpool but he's quickly become one of my favourite dealers to buy directly from. If you're on the fence about getting this, don't be - 100% great trick which will last you a lifetime.
