Tenyo effects are amazing. They are so clever and imaginative. Unfortunately, they all look like something you got from a kid's magic kit.

Is there any that you'd actually use above the hobbyist level?

Sand Frame, wooden (ala Mikame') or plastic. Each works well and neither looks like a "toy" item.

I would say WHATS NEXT, GORILLA BAR, and CRYSTAL TUBE are excellent for parlor/stage performances.

Unfortunately, most Tenyo seem to anchor themselves to tabled close-up. If that’s your medium, you have the litany if the Tenyo library at your fingertips.

However, for something like stand up-strolling, there’s a fraction of available options, and less that pack flat.

To which, I’d recommend Dream Psychometry, Mysterious Pocket, Cubio, Tiny Rings. Maybe Mentalist’s Flashcards (I don’t have that one, but it seems like you could do phase 2 standing up).

And MAYBE the new +1, Liar’s Fruit. At least, it seems like it could be done standing up going off the description.

Another "Pro" level effect/routine is combining Tenyo's JUMBO SIDE TRACK with Don Alan's BIG DEAL.

For close-up, I am a big fan of Rabbit in Wallet. It is very hard to find these days.

I am thinking that THE FINAL PIECE will certainly be one which will be performed by many. It meets the requirements for a really good performance piece. No pun intended.

Someone did Zone Infinity (key through coin) on Fool Us in the last two years and it fooled them. How could they not have been aware of this item? Also it was done at our magic club meeting and people seemed impressed.

The noise it makes seems suitable for a metal passing through metal.

Quoting from stereos blogspot:

"Everyone agrees that this trick [Zone Infinity] is a masterpiece that satisfies many of the elements that Tenyo creators are always striving for. Naturally, it has become one of our best selling items. The elements this trick incorporates are: 1) it uses everyday items, 2) it can be carried in your pocket, 3) nothing is added, and nothing is taken away, 4) it is easy enough for anyone to perform, and (5) it will even fool magicians."

Nothing to add. Smile
