With the huge amount of magic being released these days it's easy for something really good to get overlooked. Such is the case with a new card booklet titled 'Deviant Practices' by Aaron Shields. Mr. Shields has spent the last few years (I've known him for over 5 years and he's been working on these effects before I even knew him) putting these effects together and at last they can be found together in one place. The amount of thought that he puts into his magic is second to none and his magic knowledge is awe inspiring. It's rare to find someone that is so dedicated to the art that he doesn't settle until every move is motivated and the magic happening is clear to the spectators. Not only is the magic beautifully constructed but so are the actual booklets that Mr. Shields has spent countless hours putting together. Any serious student interested in the 'real work' should definitely check this out as magic like this isn't released everyday. Once you work through his effects and read his essays you too will find yourself taking your magic to the next level.
Also, if you are a pass junkie like me you will be interested to hear that Mr. Shields has re-printed his work on the dribble pass which sold out within a few days the last time it was released. This is the 'real work' on one of the best passes out there.
