Never really stopped.
The Covass put a damper on things for a bit. That has now disappeared People are happy to crowd around and watch a show. Nickoli |

I've just received an invitation to busk at an event I busked at a few years ago.So, I'm hoping to be able to make it out there. Time to do some practicing, soon!

Yes been busking here in LA!
Been a busker since I was 14 from San Diego; Don Driver was my mentor along with many others like Jimmy Talksalot, Sleeveless (Stephen Sloan), Bob Elliott.

Basically, and as discretely as possible, about 24 hours before I got out, I'm going to have to monitor my fluid intake. Otherwise, I'll be picking up my table and running for a men's room about every hour or so.

I think you show up and there’s a lottery pick. But I’m sure there’s a pecking order. Will Soto has run the show down there for years. The Sunset Pier that is.

Will Soto is mentioned in one of my favorite books; "The Callahan Key." by Spider Robinson.
For those not in the sci/fi field, Robinson's "Callahan's" series is a group of books about a bar. The first three, the bar was "Callahan's Bar & Grill," "somewhere" in Long Island. At this bar, ANYTHING could happen. You know the story about the man with the talking dog? At Callahan's, the dog's a regular. After three books, Spider had Callahan's blown up by a small atomic device, to stop an alien invasion, and Mike Callahan left. The fourth and fifth books had guitar player and narrator of the entire series Jake Stonebender, open a new place "Mary's Place" (named after Mike's daughter). They stopped another invasion, by inviting the invaders in and getting them drunk, and met with an Irish DRINKING spirit! We are also introduced to Ernie Shay, "The Lucky Duck." a offspring of a pookah and a fir darrig, Shay's luck is always off beat, and not always to his benefit. That bar gets closed down by the City Fathers in Long Island, because Jake never applied for a license. By the sixth book, "Callahan's Key," the group has spread out and Jake has been living in the abandonded bar with his wife and adopted daughter, who just so happens to be a genius prodigy who had a good portion of the internet loaded into her head at birth. Nickola Tesla (granted immortality by the Callahan's) shows up along with Ernie Shay. Tesla has a problem. Upon his (faked) death, the government took all his notes and now, one of them, a particle beam weapon, has been perfected and will be central in the destruction of the universe. Jake has to get his crew back together, get them down to Key West, and figure out how a bunch of telepathic barflies are going to subvert a top secret government experiment!
