For those interested I am taking orders for my new book Gagnon's Inner Sanctum. It can be ordered on my website at tomgagnonmagic.com or via PayPal using my email address thomas_gagnon_381@comcast.net. The books will be mailed out in July and sells for $69.95 post paid in the lower 48 states. The book is 248 pages, 628 illustrations and contains contributions from 32 close-up experts from around the world. It also contains a lot of new material of mine. Previously unpublished material from Dai Vernon, Ed Marlo, Sol Stone, Joe Monte, David Malek, Bernard Bilis, Roger Klause, Vic Trabucco, to name a few, are in the book. I only printed a limited supply. So you need to strike while the iron is hot.

Here's my unsolicited opinion on this and other works from authors such as Mr. Gagnon. These folks need your support! When possible, buy directly from them. Nothing against dealers, but dealers have a multitude of things to profit from while authors might have only one or a handful of things they offer.
I'm sure Tom's book will be another classic and if you don't buy it soon, it will be another one that sells for multiple times the original price on the secondary market. Don't wait.
It's never crowded on the extra mile....

Hi Tom, as a card man, is there much card stuff within? And would you ship to the UK, please?
Respectfully, Darren.

Hi Darren. The book contains about 75% cards. There's also a section describing various close-up effects including coins, cigarette papers, finger rings, etc. And, yes, I will be shipping to the UK. Postage to the UK will be 40.00 U.S Dollars.

You can't go wrong with this marvelous work. Tom beautifully describes and illustrates three of my favorite hops and shifts, videos below:

Jack Carpenter's Table Passes are very, very clever. I was fooled by several of them--they are that good.

Hey Tom, you’ve been around a lot of excellent card men, indeed becoming one yourself. What is it that makes such a good card man? I see some that are technically proficient, others with great flair, some who have a knack for creating, and some others that can do a little bit of it all. But who do you see as the best that you’ve come across? I have watched Jason Ladayne and thought to myself, how much better could anyone be than him? But I know there are levels to all things. Anyway, just asking.

Thanks Tom. I have watched a lot of videos on Steve Forte and a few fine others. I remember my old childhood friend, DOC speaking of many of these men when we would get together. Being rather notable himself as a card man, he would demonstrate many of their moves and critique the methods. So while I didn’t get to see Forte in person, I did get to witness some of the amazing things he does from hands that could give a good-enough facsimile of his genius with cards.
DOC is gone now, but he was quite good many have said here, and when he spoke of people like Darwin Ortiz, Richard Turner, Paul Wilson, Scarne, etc, I knew that they had to be some of the very best ever, especially Steve Forte, who Doc admired immensely. You gotta understand that DOC was a perfectionist from the time we were kids growing up in Harlem, NYC. He carried that into magic, gambling & everything he did, which undoubtedly helped to make him as good as many knowledgeable people have said as to his own abilities.
