Good afternoon everyone. I hope you are all well. I just had a question today. Is there a website or resource online were a person could read older magic books for reference? I am not looking for anything for free or modern. There are a lot of antique books that would not be accessible to most, and I just wondered if there was a legitimate website were you could pay a subscription and have access to the older material like 1800's and early 1900"s. I appreciate all of your help. Any details would be great.

Thank you,
Bj

Project Gutenberg has been digitizing old books to keep them from being lost to time. All downloads are free.

You may have to be creative about search keywords and look beyond the first pages offered but it's a good way to discover lost works.

A quick search on "magic" turned up Modern Magic: A Practical Treatise on the Art of Conjuring, by Professor Hoffmann

And I was surprised to see, from the 1860s, The Magician's Own Book, an original copy of which I have on my shelf.

Hmm . . . I wonder what it's worth? Smile

Conjuring Arts Research center has many older and current books and well as periodicals. Their site, Ask Alexander, is a wonderful resource.
