What material and what range of sizes and lengths?

Some hobby shops/craft stores have brass and aluminum tubing from an eighth-inch and up in foot long lengths.

It's a good question. I'm thinking sized to make a production tube with, somewhere between six and ten inches?

Concrete forming tubes are generally made in sizes that nest so they are easier to ship. I've found them in 3 nesting sizes. So let's say you want an 8" tube. If you are lucky enough to find a good supply at the store (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) you will find an 8", AND one slightly larger, and one slightly smaller.

All different size of cans - coffee, juice, cereal, etc., and there thinner and lighter than pvc pipe. Also card stock with glue, tape, and / or staples. Just to try an Idea.

I was thinking card stock. As I work in a Walmart, I have access to larger sizes of card stock.
