Many magicians give positive feedbacks after using these holders, but you need to try them by yourself rather than telling you how good they are. This is the next generation holder you have ever experienced." -Hanson Chien (Founder of HCPC) "Magicians always have desires on new magic effects but neglect the importance of holder. Ochiu creates the holder for the magicians in next generation. In the future, there are two types of magicians: those with the holders created by Ochiu and those who don't have." -Red Tsai (Founder of Ochiu Studio) |

FWIW, Brent Braun noted in his review of this product that it doesn't actually fit the jumbo coin that Murphy's usually sells that is just slightly larger (by a tiny fraction) than 3 inches... so buyers should beware. Otherwise he said it was great...

I'd be interested to know if these devices could also be used to vanish an item, or if it needs to be loaded out of site of the audience.

It really is meant to produce and item, but you might be able to figure out a way to vanish an item.

I’ve found that the jumbo pizza from “pizza paddle supreme” will fit into this holder.

The images on the site look like computer renders. Is this 3D printed?

I purchased a pre-owned JCD (by Hanson Chien). It is a very nicely made piece of apparatus. Much more nicely made than the other JCD I own (by Max Meleshko). Unfortunately...
I own three different jumbo coins. Penny, quarter and half dollar. None of them fit the JCD (by either maker). Why on earth would Murphy's market a product in the U.S. that does not fit the jumbo coins that are commonly sold by U.S. magic shops? My jumbo coins are slightly too large in diameter to fit the JCD by Hanson Chien. The swing arm's outside edge rubs against the coin edge, making it too tight of a fit. If I'm able to get the swing arm in the lock position, then the swing arm will not release when I press the release button. It's too bad. Otherwise, the JCD by Hanson Chien is a beautifully made & designed product. It simply appears nobody bothered to test it with the jumbo coins we buy here in the U.S. Is anyone aware of a jumbo half dollar that is slightly under 3 inches in diameter? Mark P.S. IMHO, don't even consider the JCD by Max Meleshko. Thumbs completely down for that one.

After encouragement from Michael Rubinstein in a Facebook group, I found this jumbo half dollar on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081X58MTK The description states 3"/7.6cm (2.99"). However, an accompanying photo shows the coin in a set of metric calipers and it is measuring 7.3cm, which is 2.874". I ordered one, fingers crossed it works. FWIW, I believe the reason the common jumbo coins (sold in many magic shops) don't work is due to how they are manufactured. The process leaves the coins with a thin raised ridge all the way around the edge. If that ridge was not present, I believe the common coins would work in the JCD. I may try to remove the ridge from one of my jumbo coins to find out. Mark

I'll let you know. The jumbo coin from Amazon has shipped, it will be here tomorrow.
Frankly, I think it is beyond crazy that Hanson Chien and Ochiu would make and release a product like this WITHOUT first testing it with jumbo coins that are highly common in the U.S. Worse, the jumbo coins we all already own were probably made in China in the first place. But Hanson Chien and Ochiu are not alone... As mentioned above, the JCD by Max Meleshko is also a bust when it comes to common jumbo coins. They do not fit. I found a Walking Liberty jumbo coin that is supposed to be 2.875" in size. I am considering purchasing one but kinda want to wait and see how the incoming Kennedy half jumbo coin works. Mark

Mark...here was my review on Penguin in January
I don't know what they were thinking when they designed this. I have 8 jumbo coins in different denominations that I bought from various magic dealers. NONE of them fit. I can't believe that someone would make this, sell it in the United States, and not test it with US jumbo coins. The annoying part, all the coins are a tiny big larger...but too much to sand off without damaging the coin. |

Mark,
I would be interested in sourcing the Jumbo Walking Liberty if it fits. Michael |

The jumbo Kennedy half dollar I ordered from Amazon arrived. It appears to be chromed, or at least highly polished. But that shouldn't be an issue, nobody is supposed to believe it is a real coin anyway. The coin works beautifully in the JCD! The release is perfect.
The coin measure exactly 2.875" in my dial calipers. So, basically 7.3cm. By comparison, the "common" jumbo Kennedy half that I already owned measures 3.050 in my dial calipers. A little bit more than 1/8" difference. The new jumbo coin easily fits in the JCD by Hanson Chien, with room to spare (see photo). It also fits and releases properly in the JCD by Max Meleshko. Clearly, these JCDs were designed with this diameter of coin (and edge thickness) in mind. The downside... The new jumbo coin fits rather loosely in the JCD by Hanson Chien. To the point that it "talks" when I move around. I am planning to line the inside of the JCD with self-adhesive black felt. There might be enough room to line both halves. Based on this coin, I am going to go ahead and order a jumbo Walking Liberty. I'll report back my findings when that arrives. New jumbo Kennedy left, "common" jumbo Kennedy right. Mark
