What do you call a specially printed deck where the cards are in portrait layout, backs are the same but faces are cut in half in the center (not corner to corner), with one end all normal (52 cards) and the other end the specific force card (say, 3 of Spades)? Any idea where I can find it/them?

What a clever variation on the force deck, it's got my gears turning now on different possible uses.
Sorry I don't have a lead on these, do you know if it was commercially produced in the past? A few ideas came to mind about getting one produced: I had come across PrintByMagic.com and haven't had a need to use them yet, but they claim to supply some large names in magic with custom printed gaffs on Bicycle stock. I looked and I think they charge just 22 Pounds / ~USD$26 for a full deck of custom faces like this: https://printbymagic.com/custom-printed-......ed-back/ One of the card splitters could surely get it made custom to your liking on legitimate stock/backs (e.g, Martini, CardShark, etc). Other digital print services like MakePlayingCards, Zazzle or a local print shop are all options, although it would take a fair amount of graphics design work to get all 52 cards cut/cropped/pasted/etc to be print ready. I bought an effect that had a custom Bicycle-printed Rider Back deck like this, but instead it split the deck into sets of 26 and 26 cards. When you spread in one direction you'd see a mix of only 26 cards (two copies of each). The spectator could freely point to a card from one side. When you turned deck around (and switched to the other set of 26 cards), you'd spread and have vanished the card without having known what it was. Another take on the Princess Card Trick principle. I'm happy to name the effect if you want to PM me, I don't want to OUT it since it's still on the market. Good luck! |
