Vanishing Inc. states that the deck will feel about 2-3 cards thicker, while a reviewer on the site says 10 cards thicker, so substantially more. I'd be curious to see a photo of these next to a standard deck.

Insight felt about 2 or 3 cards thicker than normal deck. This seems ;like it will be thicker than Insight. Worth it if there’s MUCH better range, but that’s an unanswered question now.

There are 7 modes you can choose, only single card mode you can have better range. Other mode you need to scan with
the reader close to you. |

They will pull out the card from the deck with his palm covering the back of the card and put it inside his pocket or his back . In this case the reader cannot scan the chosen card. |

Thanks for the info! That’s a bit of a problem in my view…

When you say hide the reader on a table, do you mean hide it under the table, on the table but it being hid in something, built into the table etc. All these specifics are relevant because depending where and how you want to position the reader, will depend on the reading distance. So sadly it’s not a straight forward answer as it depends on all those variables.

I recommend doing a little research and find the versions that are around for years.
It’s definitely not a new technique. I’am not talking about NFC tech. The only thing you get with products like Bat System is one thing : more exposure on the internet. |

You are right, but again it depends on different factors. Eg if a table is made if metal, glass, wood, thickness etc would all contribute to ‘interference’ in the read if for example you hid the reader under a table. But the best way giving as little interference as possible would be like you said to house the reader in something like a card box on top of the table - something of a material that is as pours as possible.

I’ve ordered one. I’d be disappointed if there isn’t a meaningful range difference compared to other tech available (accepting caveats around materials etc). I think having it hidden in a card box and getting the read at a sensible distance is a big improvement (with a good presentation) over please place this card onto this specific spot, or into this box.

Very happy with my purchase of The Bat I am also owner of Insight and the enhanced range of the Bat is a real advantage imho. I will have the spec put the card in a small envelope thereby excluding the possibility for me to read the back of the card.
