Im not sure what N.C.R.(?non-carbon resin paper?) is, but you can find great carbon paper at the post office, UPS, and basically anywhere that you need to fill out forms that leave you with a copy. The best carbon paper I have found came from college transcripts.
If you are looking for the non-carbon paper that some reciept books come with, try an office supply store. I havent found these to be of any use, they leave a very weak copy, if anything. Good luck |

LBP...
NCR stands for "Non Carbon Required" and is a specially treated paper that allows you to duplicate writing/typing on sheets without using standard carbon paper... NCR comes in both single sheets as well as sets of anywhere from 2-6 sheets padded together... on the 2-sheet sets the top sheet is usually the "transmitter" and the second sheet the "receiver"... the transmitter has the special coating on its bottom part and by contacting with the top of the 2nd sheet which has a reactive coating it allows the instant appearance and transfer of written or typed information... either sheet can be printed on, either on the coated or non-coated surface and are usually used for forms sets... There are numerous applications for NCR in the mentalism/magic world, many quite devious... unfortunately because this is an open forum I cannot illustrate any of the potential uses... NCR can be a little tricky to use but once you understand its properties and how to "harness" them it can become a very handy tool in your arsenal (I have some very sneaky ways that I use NCR)... As for availability... most good printing paper suppliers will carry both the single sheets or pre-padded sets, and in a variety of colors... MeadWestvaco makes a line of NCR's called "Excel" in standard 20 # weights as well as a few other weights... look in your yellow pages for paper distributors and you should find a supplier (if you live in or near a good sized city)... if not, contact a local printer and ask them for information on where you can purchase the paper or if they can get it for you... you should know that the paper is not inexpensive... If you want to learn more about NCR and how it works, the properties and the way that it's "spec'd" I suggest you do a Google search and you'll find quite a bit of information online... Hope this helps... Success!!! Tony Blake The Thoughtreader Õ¿Õ¬ |
