I was busier than ever with preschool and summer camp gigs, which was good, but they are done now and I'm really burnt out, today was my first day off in 3 weeks, only cause I'm sick. On the other hand, my birthday gigs, starting at the beginning of summer, were about 50% below last year. It was actually OK that my bdays were down because I was so busy on weekdays, and I was sick a few times, had Covid, laryngitis, etc. I really have no idea why the bdays were down, was it the economy/inflation, Covid, people just deciding to do non-magician bday entertainment, changes to Google search results? How has your summer been?

I haven't even had the time to analyze or add up the dollar amounts, but I have a strong suspicion this was my best summer ever. Summer camps, campgrounds, community events, and preschools were all very good.

I don't share your results on birthday parties, they were also very good for me. I checked out your web site and everything looks great! You have a dedicated page to birthday parties and calling yourself a birthday party specialist. It is a mystery why your BP business is not stronger also.

My one fear going into the summer was getting sick. I place a high premium on taking care of myself, especially since covid, by exercising and eating properly. By God's grace I made through without getting sick. The only wrinkle on the summer was my wife (my face painting and balloon twisting) threw her back out, which forced me to cancel or replace 5 days worth of gigs for her.

I am taking a 2 week vacation beginning on Labor Day to recharge, and then we will see if the school assembly business will make a comeback this year. I'm betting yes on that one.

For larger shows such as fairs and festivals this was one of my better summers for sure. I also had a lot of retirement, nursing and rehab facilities as well. I did have to wear a mask at all of those which is totally understandable. As for Birthday shows it's actually been pretty slow. I have had a few, but nowhere near the normal amount.
