Wanting to perform this effect ...

... always using playing cards but avoiding tearing them, I was thinking of doing it by introducing the twin cards.

So I could use 4 randomly chosen cards and their corresponding twin for a total of 8 cards: what do you think?

Other suggestions are welcome! ;-)

If you do serious card magic, you should find yourself throwing in the rubbish a pack of cards every 7-10 days maximum...
Just put them in a drawer and use them for this trick.

My suggestion is to tear the cards. The audience will react much differently than if you choose the option of using four couples of mates ..
