Do you have particular coins in mind that you'd want to use? Size?
You could also just get the original; I don't think that was a replica. |

Someone released them a while ago without Steve's permission, that was later granted. Since then, Airship Magic bought the rights for Steve's effects. As for originals, not sure, mine was a copper penny shell and a half. I can't remember what he called it, maybe Copper Silver Transpo?

Tom, that is the correct title Steve gave the original. Theory11 put out digital dissolve then sought permission from Steve Duscheck only after a bit of controversy.
Jamie Schoolcraft produced them for T11. The only ones I see available online now are Chinese ripoffs. Twocan, I will keep my eyes open for you |

The way I heard the story, T11 received permission from the Estate and like everything else, China started making them. Since the new comers and some old schoolers
would rather pay cheaper and get crap than support an original. So I had heard T11 stopped making them. That is the only thing my brother and I dislike about magic, the fact that there are people so cheap they would rather buy a knock off. But us being young, we've also heard and learned this is nothing new to the industry. Maybe if you email T11 and ask to buy one and have them contact us, we'd be happy to help out with a legitimate version, but the sale would have to go through T11.

Each effect must be Approved by the Dusheck Estate. So we haven't actually Purchased The Rights, but rather we are licensed under contract. Earlier this year, the Estate was granted Steve Dusheck's® as a registered trademark. Since then, my brother has written a bot/spider that scans the web for illegal use of the trademark in web stores. There are only serveral licensed manufacturers of Steve's Magic, Steve Shufton, Theory11 and AirShip Magic. Anyone else using his trademark in whole or in part is reported to the trademark registry for violation. The reach extends internationally as well and is on a custom's and Interpol's cite list. In this particular case, Tango Magic is a target. While fair use laws apply to use the trademark for informational purposes only anyone using it to profit or sell rip offs using Steve's name in whole or in part is reported.

My understanding is that T11 only got permission AFTER they released the product and there was a (rightfully so) huge uproar from the community. I think the early DVD instructions may have mentioned something about Lassen making the gaffs - perhaps he was going to - but the actual production was by Schoolcraft. The later packaging that credits Dusheck specifically mentions Schoolcraft.

I generally find that being ignorant really can be blissful, that's why I don't ask questions a lot of the times. There are so many different versions of one story, not limited to this one that being ignorant to what really happened is just the best way to go.
