I usually get eggs from a local farm but had a need for an extra dozen from the local market.
After recovering from "price shock" for regular eggs, I noticed the "Roaming Eggs" were on sale.

Two lines on the box caught my fancy --

"Free range - no cage," and "100% vegetarian fed hens."

Now, how do they train the chickens to eat only vegetable matter and ignore the bugs and worms? Mind control? Magic spell?

If the hens were in cages they might be able to limit what they eat to supplied veggies, but "free range?"

That's funny. If in fact they make sure the chickens never have access to any bugs, they could advertise their eggs as: "eggs from less than ideally healthy chickens."

This reminds me of a study done by a bunch of vegan "experts" who claimed they could feed tigers a vegan diet healthier than their meat diet. they had to stop the study mid course because the tigers health had deteriorated so much, they were in danger of permanent health damage or death.

Vegetarian doesn't mean vegan. I think they just mean they throw down some corn and stuff so they're technically only FED vegetable matter but what they pillage from grub village is on the chicken. Tricky wordplay.

Ironically when going through Air Force Survival training we were told the bugs, grubs, and worms we ate would "taste just like chicken" (They didn't)

How do we know chicken doesn't taste like something else?

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

What is that "something else"?

Possibly one of the things that we say tastes like chicken.

A lot of restaurants offer "home style chicken" but none ever taste like what grandma used to serve.

That is because grandma's chicken didn't taste like chicken, it was flavored with love.

How would we know and would it really make a difference?

"Slimy, yet satisfying!"

I remember a moment in the series "Lucifer," (quick recap, Lucifer has become bored with ruling Hell and is taking a vacation, running a night club in Los Angeles called "The Lux." He teams up with a female detective on the theory that he can punish sinners much faster if he doesn't wait for them to get to Hell!) At a moment late in the series, Lucifer, The Detective, Lucifer's twin brother, his other brother, HIS mortal wife AND a member of the police squad who's very religious are gathered for dinner with "Dad." (Yes, God) He gives them a chicken casserole, saying it's His favorite dish and the religious person bursts out laughing; "Oh, I get it. Chicken is your favorite dish. That's why everything tastes like chicken!"
