I do mostly close up magic at the moment. I would like to get into childrens magic as I see a lot of interest in it.
Does anyone have any tips on getting started and any recommended products to purchase? Thank you |

“Did you read that article about the kid’s show Michael Weber performed in 1992? They followed those kids’ lives for the next 30 years and now they’re all CEOs. How does Weber do it?”

Are you wanting to do it mostly because of financials?
I would first watch other performers to see how others approach it. Then I would start to think about character and what effects you already do that can be altered to fit kids shows. If you would like a book, I really liked Beyond Look, Don't See by Christopher Barnes. |

Do you perform close-up magic for kids? That might be a good place to start.

A good place to get started might be to read the opening pages of the classic book "Open Sesame" by Lewis/Tyler, published around 1948. Best advice ever! JR

"Seriously Silly" by David Kaye would be a pretty good foundation.
