Does anybody use this? If so, could you give it a quick review?

I think it's one of Stefan Schutzer's best inventions.
I don't actually own the U.F.C. but I've seen the U.F.C 3D demonstrated a couple of times and it looks really cool, especially for routines where you want to discharge thread use (if you know what I mean). It's versatile, but it seems harder to master than an ITR, and way more expensive. Still, the routines Stefan teaches are innovative and worth looking into, so I think it would be a cool investment if you are serious about thread work..

I would also be interested in current owner's opinions....?

Well Eirik I just purchased it, so I will tell you how it goes when I get it. I don't know if I am excited or not, but it is already in the mail.

I would still be interested to hear what others think of it.

DO a search for U.F.C. and you will find several old posts. I recommend U.F.C. very much.

No success on a search here or Google. Any other suggestions??

OK. I did a Google for "Ultimate Float Control" that did the job.

1) I see it advertised for $200.00 and for $90.00 at ELMS. They seem to be the same, are they?

2) Is this for stage illusion or can it be used for close up or Parlor Magic??

I just picked this up. I am alittle disapointed with this product. I need to give it more time before I make a final decision on it.

Kjellstrom,

What thread do you use with this? The tread that was sent is impossible to separate. I spent almost one hours just trying to get one thread.

Input on thread would be great.

I have used my UFC since 1987 and it still works. You can use any kind of thread. I use Kevlar Thread, Standard Invisible Thread plus Elastic Thread on 3 differnet spools, very easy to change.
ALWAYS check the lighting before you perform with any kind of Invisible Thread.

It takes time to get the right feel for the correct handling of UFC, just do smooth and exact movements.

Richard, The price differential is probably between the one unit and two unit packages.

I bought the two unit package, and my only dissapointment is that I will have to work real hard to use them both at the same time, as the intent is that you and a cohort each use one. But since I perform alone, I am working on how to get some extra magic out by using two at once myself.

I use the thread that came with mine, and have had no problems with a little distance between me and the specs. But really closeup the thread would need to be replaced with a thinner (more invisible) thread. And frankly if I am doing closeup any old itr will work as the advantages of the UFC (in my opinion) are pretty much mitigated upclose.

I am especially intrigued with Kjelstrom's use of elastic with it. Where do you get the elastic, and what is the difference in handling it with the UFC? I never considered elastic with mine, although I use elastic with my own hookup modified from Dan Harlan's, and Losander's hookups.

But as far as the UFC goes, I like to parlor and although I don't do stage much, it great for stage too. But my suggestion now for closeup is Yigal's Spider pen. It is half the price of the single UFC, and although it won't do all of what a UFC will do, for closeup, it does more than enough, and does it very well.

Does anyone know where I can find UFC? I tried a lot of shops, but I'v got no positive answer. Is this out of stock? Why? Any trouble? Or just because of its commercial success?

Elms Magic shop sells both the single and 3D versions, depending on availability: http://www.elmagicshop.com/cgi-bin/webc.......84422.97

Also a store on ebay which offers the 3D version: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie......:MEWA:IT

Thank you so much, Derek,

But Elms does not have UFC either. Here is their answer:

"We do not have in stock UFC - No dealer has UFC in stock - we all wait for more to be made. Perhaps in 2 months."

Thank you anyway

Today I use the UFC for stage and parlour magic and Spider Pen for Close Up and Impromptu magic. In sweden its very easy to sell a UFC. They are very hard to find these days...
Stefan Schützer, Sweden the inventor of the UFC had also a prototype of the Spider Pen concept around 1988-89. I was one of the first to have a UFC in my magic show. UFC = fine magic for the best magical experience Smile

Stefan is going the the big Blackpool Convention, England this year 2005: if you want to meet the inventor of the UFC go to the magic dealer Pegani from Denmark. Stefan will sell his new Floating Table at Pegani Shop. http://www.pegani.dk/

I am confused over the UFC you are referring to and the UFC - Ultimate Floating Card which is (too) readily available....

I never had any problems with my UFC. I have had mine now since the early 90s. I think it is great both stage work, close up and strolling.
