I emailed craig to buy ousterling coin boxes, but he got a reply that he doesn't ship internationally. Is there any way to buy his box...? I have also contacted the shipping company, but he seems to be in the position of never selling overseas. Is there really no way for someone like me who lives in a country other than the US to get his boxes?? So sad. This is the box I really want. Although expensive, it is well worth it. Do you have any coinboxes you can recommend? I'm thinking of the RK coin box as the next best thing. Thank you for your kind comments.

Do you have any friends in the US, either from the Café or anywhere else?
You could very easily have them order one of his boxes, and then have the friend forward them to you overseas. Very straightforward to do, and no one's out of joint. It just costs you a little bit more in shipping, but if you really want his boxes, it's probably worth it. I believe there are also reshipping services that can do this, but someone you know would be easier. |

There are lots of reasons why someone might choose to do that.
Taxes, customs, insurance, there are a lot of extra hassles. I'm not criticizing him for his choice, or you for wanting it. Just suggesting that both sides have valid needs. Here's just one of several companies that could help you: https://www.shipito.com/en/ Note that I have no affiliation with them, nor any reason to trust them, specifically. You should do your own research and pick a company that fits your needs. My point is merely that you have several potential options, and if you can't find someone you know to help you, perhaps paying a little more to a service to handle it would solve your problems more simply. |

Dealing with overseas shipping can really be a hassle. High shipping costs, dealing with customs, etc. I sent a book to Venezuela 2 years ago, and it is still stuck in customs. I have no idea why. I don't know how hard the guy is trying to get it out, but as far as I know, it is still there.

Craig was ripped off several times by people overseas using his design and calling it their own.
That is why he will not sell overseas or to magic shops. You want his stuff you have to buy directly from him at his discretion. It is really that simple. It is difficult but he is the one making the product. |

I readily admit that I don't know the full story here with Craig.
But I do know that there was just a discussion with Magikoins (here: https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......tart=32) where he thought his design (and added feature) had been copied, when in fact it. had been developed independently. It was great that Magikoins reached out to the other creator to check, and they were able to resolve timelines with video evidence. I can't help but wonder here if Craig did the same - since I think it's the same second creator - or if an assumption has been made about provenance. Again, I don't know the full story, but I don't feel comfortable repeating the term "ripped off" without knowing more from both sides. As far as the rest goes, I agree in the end it's his decision. But I also know that if someone wants really to steal or copy an idea, they're likely to find a way, whether you try and stop them or not. I'll also observe that multiple suggestions have been made as to how the OP could approach getting it shipped through the US first. If he's unwilling to take any of those steps, I don't know what more to say. He's the one who will have to compromise here. |
