Hi,
I'm new here, and I could really use some help. You see, I'm planning on doing a disappearing trick but I want to use fire to make it more exciting. I was thinking of using flash paper, but I don't know if I should keep the burning FP in my hand or throw it, because throwing the FP won't work based on how I planned the trick. Can you please give me some advice? |

Though fire is quite mystical and enchanting, if you have not used fire or flash paper before, please get with someone in person to help. It is fire and it does carry many dangers.
What is it by that you are wanting to make disappear in fire? There may be better and safer options or there may be something that can be taught to ensure safety precautions are in place. |

I think that it would be best if I explained how I wanted to perform the trick. I put a ring in my left hand, put a piece of FP on top of it, light the FP then (this is the part I'm unsure about) clench my hand while the fire is dying (I know it's dangerous, that's why I have doubts), then press my right hand against my left, so as to create something of a vacuum, while explaining that I've done this before and that this does a lot to help the pain, even transferring it to the other hand. My ulterior motive for the vacuum is to have it move the ring from my left hand to my right hand (this works, you can try it on a coin if you don't believe me, just ensure your hands are sweaty), explain that I'm transferring a fraction of the pain to my other hand, then clench both my hands, then reveal my left hand empty and my right hand to have the ring. As for getting with someone in person for help, I have nobody who knows enough FP to turn to. I am well aware that I can do it without the fire, but it won't be as exciting.

Sorry to burst your bubble but making a ring travel from your left hand to your right after placing your hands together isn't going to fool anyone, fire or no fire.
Now you could do this simply by using the old paper coin fold vanish. The coin ends up secretly in your right hand while the supposedly wrapped coin lies on your left hand. Ask someone to light the paper. The coin disappears in a flash and reappears in your right hand. |

You know what? That's actually a good idea. Thanks for the advice man, I genuinely appreciate it. But I'm going to be honest here, the trick was something I randomly thought up, so don't worry about bursting any of my bubbles. I do fully intend on having the coin move from my right hand hand to my left, but I don't know how to do that. I can however, perform the paper vanish, but how am I supposed to move the coin from my right hand to my left?

Fire effects are extremely dangerous. Don't do them, at all!! You could get severely injured or hurt somebody else.
