ImMAKulate Ring Flight (small case version)
£36.86 from http://www.emagictricks.co.uk There have been countless discussions of various Ring Flight / Ring Flite effects on this board but I thought a recent review of this item might be useful since people are often thinking of buying a version of this effect and I have some specific info on it. Effect: You borrow a specs ring and after admiring it/making derisory comments about it, it vanishes and appears firmly attached to a hook "in" a zipped keycase in your pocket - even though you go to the pocket with obviously empty hands. Product: For you money, you get a nice soft black leather key-case with a pop-pocket back and a zip-up front which hides/exposes the keys which hang from a row of steel clip-hooks. There is a gizmo which gets the key to the case - ie this is a reel version of the effect. The zip runs up the front and doesn't really remove the possibility that you somehow got into it by hand. The reel is powerful and will work with any ring. It's quietish but by no means silent. One on one in a social situation you'd hear it. In a buzzing party you probably wouldn't. The case is a real one - not too tacky. The whole thing looks quite strong. It locks into position so don't have to have the line taut but the unlocking of the reel is the noisiest thing that happens. The hook the key clips onto isn't remotely the same as the ones the other keys are on. Will they notice? Probably not as surprise will dominate but more effort could have been made. It's is large and odd shaped but at least it fits even very large rings. You do get an alternative clip in a gold colour but this again isn't the same as the others. It's not examinable at any point although a cursory look won't reveal anything. I can't see examination being relevant anyway. Overall I think this is only an average produce. Much more effort could have been made to make the hooks consistent. The ring-hook should be in line with the others. All they've done is add reel to a keycase. Anyone could easily make one up to the same standard. I will modify it to overcome the insufficiencies but now I've seen the brand name key-reel used I might as well start from scratch. There are worse (noisier ones and weaker) ones out there. This is a solid workable unit but nothing special. |

For a reeelsss ring flite I would recommend Just in Case by Joe Porper. For a reel Ring FLite I personally would recommend the locking reel ring flie manufactured by El Duco. It costs approxiamtely $100.00 but has a very strong, reliable locking reel.
Best regards, Michael
