Who doesn’t remember Laffing Sal at your local amusement park, probably the most terrifying thing from my childhood. In homage to Sal I present to you this miniature creepy version:

The amusement part in Virginia Beach that I frequented had a Laughing Sal prominently displayed in front of their dark ride.

Our Laughing Sally was in the San Francisco Cliffhouse arcade museum. That has since closed years ago & now sits in her new home near SF Pier 39's at the historic arcades museum.
I remember that 7 ft ghost advert, amazing the stuff they put & sold thru our kids mags, funny thing was most us kids just HAD to send in our hard earned allowance, newspaper & lawnmower, etc odd jobs money. Then we'd get this stuff in the mail & be disappointed......ah, the good' ol days lol Thanks for that Chuck |

It's amazing how something that used to terrify us as kids can now be a nostalgic and fun part of our amusement park experiences. Your miniature version is quite a quirky homage to that creepy yet beloved character.

My greatest gift was from my favorite aunt who introduced me to stamp collecting by giving me a free packet of used stamps of the world and a monthly subscription to a stamp catalogue that I had to pay for if I wanted anything. I didn't have the money to buy anything because I spent all of my money at that time for chemicals to make rocket engines, Today they are called pipe bombs because more of them exploded than flew. Childhood was a lot of fun when I was young and children today will never experience the freedom we had to run the neighborhood without fear of anything except a neighbor telling our parants we did someting wrong. Those were great days.

There you might discover even more nostalgic gems and thrilling attractions. It's always fascinating to see how these parks have evolved over the years, offering new adventures while still holding onto the charm of the past. Thanks for sharing the video and bringing back some childhood memories! |
