Hi All.
The family found a rabbit at a get together a couple months ago. Seems someone dumped a rabbit and we just happened to be able to care for it. I am thinking of clicker training him. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks |

Just a follow up. Clicker training has been going well. He will hit the target without much issue.

I trained my Netherland Dwarf, Marshmallow, to sit in her top hat and pull out a card from a spread deck. Easy to train, I just put the force the card in her mouth and, when she bit and held it, I drew the deck away.
The other funny trick for kids was when I'd put a wand across the hat brim, in front of her, and she'd pick it up with her mouth and toss it aside. Of course I was scandalized by it and gave her two more chances before moving on in the routine, lol. I got most of my training info from the book, Don't Shoot the Dog!: The New Art of Teaching and Training by Karen Pryor. It's all about behavior modification by positive reinforcement. I recommend it.

I have been using freeze dried strawberries. The vet said they would be fine in moderation.
