Hey Bizarre Peeps!
I’m working on a routine where the props take credit for the magic. I’m curious to know what solid ones you may know (both in print and out of print is fine). Bonus points if the prop is unique. I’m sure there’s an abundance of effects out there, but I’m interested in hearing the ones you think are the best. Criteria: 1. The prop is the centerpiece and is given the credit. 2. Must not be a card trick. |

Among many other rare items at the Surnateum, the temporisoscope allows you to communicate thru time and modify History. (see Timetrap)
Suzuhiko)hime, bells tsukumogami that stops Time. The Torwood William Wallace quaich allows you to read in someone's mind (both persons have to drink scotch whisky from the same cup) |

To Clarify, do you mean the prop is a machine or device that has been created solely to serve a magical purpose, versus an item that has been haunted or enchanted and now serves a magical purpose?
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

So many to choose from! 99% of my routines always attribute the forces to an object and not me - but my character is that of a Rod Serling introing items...
Shrunken Heads that are alive, Spirit Telegraphs, Alien Tech, and so on.... take any magic effect, marry it to some cool legend or story, and find an object. My fav still for me is still a Brazen Head automaton that acts as a seer.

The eye of Maya allows the owner to see in the futur (at least 3 minutes) with great accuracy. This Tibetan silver ring has a antique Luk Mik that opens the third eye.
The strange "monkey paw" bought in Katmandu in 1967 gives you 3 wishes but one must be extremely careful. A classic? Maybe not. The postcards protect you from being cursed (and slaughter) by Krampus. 2 simple coins that may curse you if you don't respect a death ritual. A 1730 reliquary of the True Cross. Will reveal his power the strangest of way. Now, please show yours items, I'm curious. |
