I was rooting around my gaff coins yesterday and came across a flipper that I don't recall belonging to any particular trick. It's an American Half Dollar, which is the flipper, and the other side is a Mexican Centavo. Does anyone know how or where this might be used?

I've never seen one with a Centavo.... I've seen them with an English Penny.

Seconded. Some searching doesn't turn up any results about this either.

Can you give any more specifics (or pictures; you can email them to me if you'd prefer not to post them publicly)?
That might help narrow down the manufacturer or era.
- Is the Centavo real, or a replica?
- What type/year is the half dollar? (Kennedy? Clad?)
- Is the groove internal or external?
- Is the insert re-milled or flat?

I'm out of the country presently, but I'll post a picture in about a week. Thank you very much

My friends and I are very curious to see some photos of this odd flipper. Hopefully we can identify the maker as well Smile

Not a bad idea - to make a C/S which can also be shown as two coins in a fan display.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

It's been done.
Tango makes one, and Craig Petty had one in one of his coin sets, but those are with an English Penny not a 20 Centavos.

Will Houstoun mentioned to me a few years ago that he was having a flipper made such that the interior of the insert could be shown as a Chinese coin with a hole.
