What are the advantages of having a good pinky count along with a memorized deck? Is there anything unique that a good pinky count allows you to do with a memorized deck?

Why stop at just use with a mem deck? There are a variety of applications to apply the pinky count to if you are looking for a reason to learn the move. Just saying.

Thanks, Inflector. I've been practicing the move for about 15 years. I'm aware of applications outside the mem deck area. I have a download on the pinky count. I forget who put it out, but he said that a good pinky count allows 'absolute miracles' with a mem deck. I'm curious to know what these might be, as he didn't elaborate.

Counting down to their card if it is in the top 15 or so, then bringing it to the top or bottom, allows for miracles. You could spread cull face down to the bottom once you have a pinky break. Reverse spread to bring it to the top. Etc, etc.

A good pinky count is another tool that can provide you very good results once you have to reach the named card in a memorized deck. I'm thinking in Mnemonicosis, for instance.

Thanks DJ Trix.
That's interesting, Msoriano. I don't know that many mem deck effects. I always thought that that participant cut the deck in mnemonicosis. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. |

The participant cuts the deck. Imaging this situation, you are performing mnemonicosis and ask the spectator to cut the deck. He cuts it and the selected card is two or three card away from the cutted card. Pinky count and double or triple lift to solve!!!
As I said, is just another tool in our set of sleights that can be useful sometimes. |
