Hi! I'm M / Trick or Die

I like card magic. I first started in 2007, but had an almost 10 year break, before coming back to magic few years ago.

I really like designing original card routines and creating versions of established effects. However, nowadays I don't really have as many opportunities to perform magic as I would like.

I decided as my 2023 magic goal, to share my magic tricks and ideas, with the magic community, completely free of charge, in hopes of somebody finding the material interesting and worth trying out.

I'm really looking forward to having great discussions here, and I would love to give back to the magic community with my experience as a keen amateur magician and a professional in the storytelling arts.

I'm hoping to share 12 routines this year. I have now finished the first manuscript.

Sounds very interesting. I've pm'd you about the tricks and ideas.
One of the things I struggle the most with is coming up with scripts that I feel are good, especially before I perform a routine a few times as in having some kind of plan of how I'd like to frame it. Seems like your background in storytelling would be a great asset for script writing so would love to start a discussion on that. I don't think I'm necessarily looking for my effects to be "storytelling" effects as such but I definitely want them to be more interesting and engaging than simply telling people what I'm doing (I'll put your card in the middle of the deck, shuffle it, blah, blah) so it would be interesting to get your take on how to write scripts that engage people more.
