Thanks,
Did not know there was a facebook page as well, but haven't seen the whole movie yet. Got it 2 day's ago, en yesterday I cut that movie in sections, so I can find the effects more easily. They should have put that "thing" on the same side..... It was something I noticed, because Craig was holding it the other way around, and indeed you're right, if the golden edge is down it's ok.

Last part of the video they talk about it.
Love the trick I practice with it for hours and hours. That brings me to one part of concern. And that's the purse. What I mean by that it's beautiful made, but well I practise a lot, do open/close happens a lot. I hope that purse can stand it. Maybe it would be wise, If they sell that purse as a spare part. I don't think it will be broken, but it has to stand a lot, in the beginning when you practise it will be put to the test. So when that closure button breaks or the hinge you're screwed. Then you have the coins, but have to buy that whole trick again, which is expensive. Would be nice if you can buy in that case only the purse.

Alakazam sells purses like the one that comes with the Apparition set. You can switch the gimmick into a new purse if the original wears out. It seems pretty sturdy to me, however.

Thanks,
I don't think it will break, but it's good to know that if it happens that option will be there.

Got mine the other day. Super fast shipping.
Took me a while to figure out how to open the coin purse. Thought they had shipped me a bad one. One thing though, is that the polarity is not correct. Somehow it repels and is off center. I reversed the thingy inside the coin purse and it didn't help either. I tried it with a square one I had laying around and went on dead center. Anyone else have this issue? (Just trying to be a little cryptic). |

Those purses can be a little hard to open. You can use a pair of pliers to gently bend the tab very slightly.
Regarding the second issue, I’ve noticed that it works better if you place the purse directly on the center of the coin. If you place it too far off center, it will adhere off center. |

I don't see how polarity can be an issue, I believe there is a shim rather than a magnet in the shell. I did not think it was necessary to be cryptic but mods can delete if needed.

I don't see how there can be a polarity issue with a shim. The turtle has a shim not a neo in it. Roy did a great
machining job on the turtle and to use a neo in it would have prevented him getting such a fine tolerance. The thinnest I have seen as far as a Neo, it about .5mm In regards to opening the purse, this has always been an issue with internal clasps. But you will find after using one, that it gets easier. The set is perfect, the only thing I wish was different is that the Chinese coin was brass and not zinc or aluminum. Just a preference and I'm sure more expensive to have made in brass so I understand the choice of material.

What do you think is causing the turtle not to attach to the center of the coin magnet? It repels except the edge of the magnet.

Rather what I think is happening is the position of the Neo and the position of the purse while executing the "move". Try moving the Neo, in the tutorial, there is an explanation on how to access it. Also, when you do the move make sure you are not pausing the slightest bit or it will attract to the shim and wherever you are in the move that is where the pick up will occur. Before adjusting the neo, try adjusting how you do the change and the position of the purse in relation to the coin. If you are still experiencing problems PM me with an email address and I'll shoot a video of what to do.

Magnetizing the shell is not plausible in this case. And evem if the shim did become magnetized it would not repel from the outside.
I'm banking on he is not making the move correctly and needs to slow down and practice the move. Also, anything that is magnetized by another magnet does not repel as it has no polls to it it's magnetized throughout with no polls.

What he may be finding which I have found also is that the center of the shell does not attract to the center of the magnet as seems intuitive but rather to the outer circumference

But after practicing as with all miracles it grabs just where I need it to. While this is an "Out of the box" Miracle, like everything else in magic, it takes some fine tuning and practice.

It's not a huge deal because the case is big enough to cover it, but there are times where the turtle is peaking out from underneath the case. I've been adjusting the magnet's position as best as I could to minimize this. |

The reason that it does not attract to the center of the neo is because the center of the shim does not work like that. Only one magnet will "Snap" to the center of another magnet. A shim will attract to a magnet at the first chance it has of being exposed to it. It's all about positioning when doing the move. A shim in nothing more than a piece of ferrous metal that will attract to a magnet or vice versa. Even if a shim takes on a small of a magnetic charge, but even in doing so is attracted either way, never repelled as it was not charged with poles. It simply has picked up a magnetic property.
Based on the size of the magnet in the set, it's 99.9% unlikely it was diametrically magnetized and even it were would not affect the rest of the magnet in the way it's positioned. I have one set from the first run and I opened my 2nd one from the second run. I can cause the purses to flip by the magnets repelling. The shim works just fine from the second run with using the first run purse. They nailed it with the polarity, now you just need to nail it with the practice.
