I do a lot of name a card jazzing and Queen of Hearts obviously comes up a lot. I often tell them it's a commonly named card and give them a chance to name another, but I think it might be better to just say "You sure? It can be any card." and if they insist, hit them with a crazy revelation. Some ideas I've thought of:
Putting a signature with a marker on Queen of Hearts - and saying, "Earlier I signed one card sight unseen" I also thought about carrying a copy of the Queen of Hearts under the case of my phone But maybe there's something with more wow factor you can recommend? Maybe a product? Ideally, I'd like not to carry too much extra stuff |

I remember when it was fashionable for a clever conjuror to have a large color picture of the Queen of Hearts on the back of his t-shirt under a sports coat...

Put it in your pocket in and envelope and replace that card with a joker in your deck.

(Ties were a lot wider back then.) I actually purchased one (a TL) once from a small magic vendor who had set up a booth inside a downtown Las Vegas casino lobby, back in the day when magic gimmicks were more popular with the general public than they are now. --Some of us have been in this game for a long time, eh? I feel like the reveal should in itself be magical, an appearance or a change. Simply pulling the card from a random spot is not particularly interesting, but pulling it out of thin air would be doubly impressive. Why not have it in your back pocket and if given the opportunity, backpalm it, reach into the air and produce their named card?

Plucking the card from mid air or twirling it from the centre of the deck is also magical, but it is now a different trick- now you are a magician or a manipulator who can produce any card called for. I'm not saying one is better than the other, just different magic. A queen of hearts from an old deck in the wallet is nice... |

Have Paul Harris's Bizarre Shrink set up in your pocket with the Queen of Hearts. Pull out *wallet* to reveal QH. Have them sign the card and go into John Luka's Card to Wallet. |

Load the card in the spec's pocket early on in the evening; then wait for the opportunity...

Personally, I would just say something along the lines of, "And can you verify that it was a completely free choice and you could have named any card?" That way you reinforce that it could be any card but you don't lose out on the amazing revelation. Your idea is great. I love planning for these little happy accidents. |

Very often I get the card they named to the top and set the deck on the table before I offer them to change their mind (if they ever do, I'll perform mnemomcocis or just tell them their card's positions in the deck) |

I don’t agree but interesting to see somebody anti-impossible location. Do wallets fit in here? Envelopes? What about a letter sent to the organizer weeks ahead of time? None are conceptually different than a card on a shirt after all. II, personally, think any/all of those are better than a backpalm production personally (backpalms are sleights that benefit from repetition). |
