The flap on my envelope is grey, is it supposed to be that dark?

I guess they are trying to make it more like the front edge of a deck of cards. I didn't like it at first, but, I think k it works.

It totally works, this is a hide in plain site kind of thing, no one is burning the deck at this point.

For those who believe, no explanation is necessary; for those who do not believe, no explanation will suffice.

Played with mine yesterday finally. More robust gimmick for sure. Wish the Panic gimmick was printed on actual card stock instead of what appears to be just cardboard but not a huge deal. Also wish the vanishing deck gimmick was less bluish than it appears but overall, it’s a nice effect with good visuals.

I’ve performed the original for many years. I start by having them examine the envelope then put it in my pocket. I introduce the seemingly normal deck of cards, using a cover card on top to hide the shiny stuff. Most Magicians want to avoid having specs see the gimmick flap. In contrast, I want them to stare at it. The cover card puts me at ease. Lol. I brush my fingers down the flap asking if people know how many actual cards are in a standard deck. I want to “make sure” they know I have a full deck in my hands. Then I say “You guys remember that empty envelope you examined that I put in my pocket (in case they forgot about it)… check this out….BOOM…. The impossible change. I had one lady nearly faint. I show both sides (the iffy side I show quickly with smart finger placement).
I want version 2.0. But if it’s just adding the “panic gimmick” and a locking mechanism … I don’t know. It just doesn’t seem like that much of a significant change. I’m just not sure if it would fry the spec’s minds more than I already do from the first version. Somebody convince me. Lol |

I used to do the original but haven’t for years. I think the Panic gimmick and the locking are clever additions. If it’s worth it is up to you. I’m impressed that people still have functioning originals

I bought a couple of the 2.0's and I suppose it is better, but not significantly so. I think the best part is simply that the gimmick is thicker, so it looks slightly more like a real deck if someone catches a glimpse from a side angle. The reactions are pretty much identical. Having said all of that, I will be mostly using the 2.0 version just because its newer, but honestly, if you don't feel you need it, you're not going to be missing out on much of anything from an effect point of view, both are excellent. |

I just picked this up, and it's one of the best card g*****ks I've ever seen. The visual change is brilliant, and because no heat is on the deck prior to the "magic moment", fears of specs burning your hands are unwarranted.
In my experience, nobody apart from other magicians burns you whilst a card is being signed. All eyes are on the card, you have all the time in the world to do the dirty work. Anyway, there are a multitude of presentation possibilities, so you can s****h in the g*****k whenever's best for you. Just a very lovely addition to any close-up repertoire, that takes up no space. |

Does anyone have issues with the crease you see on the back of the top card. I had the first version. The crease on the envelope can be covered by placing a line along the crease with a sharpie.

Is it just me, or do Penguin use the same guys as spectators for most of the tricks they release. I'm finding it a little too "false" when they suddenly scream and run around!!! As for this gimmick, looks similar effect as many other collapsible decks. Think I'll pass and stick with Reboxed!

They film a lot at a local bar here in town. So I’m guessing they film a few different tricks at a time while they’re there. Hence the same spectators. But I have both versions of this and the new version is definitely better and it does get super reactions because it is so visual
