For those of you who follow Derren Brown would know that he has a new book on the way titled ‘Notes From A Fellow Traveller’, mainly aimed at magicians and mentalists. All we have is a Twitter post from Derren teasing us the book cover. It is expected to be released around May end or June. Can't wait to read and explore what mesmerizing arcane wisdom The Master has penned down for us!

Well that was quick,

I was hours off.

=(

Most of us will have to wait for the general run I guess.

Whats it about? He tweeted you need a basic knowledge of mentalism to understand it.

He referenced knowledge of "magic".

Here's his quote:
"Please note - the book presumes you have a working knowledge of magic and really won’t make any sense if you don’t."

I was afraid the Deluxe edition would have something special, and although its nice to have and it looks amazing, I'm very happy that I was able to buy the hardback yesterday.

Happened to wake up in the middle of the night for no reason at all and decided to check the website. Managed to just scrape through with the deluxe edition. After lurking a bit in some of the usual forums I think some people are destined to be a bit disappointed. I don’t think there’s going to be many of Derren’s routines on display. This is not his version of the Berglas book. From what little he’s teased so far this is a journal on the nature of magical performance penned while on the road. Likely he was thinking ahead to directing other performers in his new show. As such I expect it will be a goldmine of practical tradecraft for the working performer and possibly the kind of book that pushes a hobbiyist down a more professional path. I personally am looking very much forward to the chapter titled “Colin falls off the stage…”

I think Derren said there are a couple of tricks in it, but mostly it's a diary of the tour. Which will give a lot of insight in performing, audience management, creating a stage show and Derren himself. And I can't wait to read it!
