Hi, everyone
I'm not sure if all of you have had the chance to see it yet, but there's a wonderfully produced parlor show called "The Witch of the Woods" by Lewis Le Val. If you haven't seen the show, You can watch it here. Over the years, I've happily purchased several of Lewis' mentalism offerings. You can imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered that Mr. Le Val is also a practitioner of the bizarre. His show is highly entertaining and inspiring to watch. If any of you happen to be acquaintances with Lewis, please pass along my sincerest compliments. In one part of the show (around the 17-minute mark), Lewis has a spectator hold his hand near a lit candle. The spectator quickly removes his hand as the flame is obviously too hot. However, Lewis then performs an incantation of sorts, and the spectator places his hand over the flame again, only to realize that he doesn't feel the fire. Shortly after, the effect is reversed, and the spectator can feel the heat of the flame again. This is an incredible effect and one that would fit perfectly into a routine I'm putting together for Halloween this year. Can anyone guide me to where I can learn this effect? Considering how closely the spectator held his hand over the candle without feeling any burn, it seems unlikely that it's solely the power of suggestion, but I could be mistaken. If anyone has more information on this, I would genuinely appreciate it.
