The subject says it all. In your opinion, what’s the best book(s) out there on routining? Why?

What exactly are you trying to find out? Routining tricks? Shows? What is your end goal?

Scripting Magic (1&2) by Pete McCabe, Stage by Stage by John Graham, and Maximum Entertainment by Ken Weber are a few books that spring to mind when looking to really put the footwork in to creating a show.
Honorable mention to Derren Brown's new work Notes from a Fellow Traveller. I haven't fully digested the whole book yet - but it goes into a lot of the staging parts that get left out of other magical writing such as handling participants, creating struggle and drama, and a general sense as to what makes magic on stage truly magic. Very good read so far.
Things are about to change........ LIGHTS!!!

Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz is very good. Even if you don’t agree with everything he says it will get your neurons firing.
