This is a bizarre way to ask a question -- there is a long story at play here, so: my apologies. Has anyone here heard of an effect known as "Rainbow Reversal"? I am actually 97% unsure of the very make-up of the trick itself..... I think it uses a 'rainbow' deck....lots of different colors or card backs....but not sure. This is killing me! Can't find a scrap of any mention online!

Yes, Bob King has an effect by this name.

EFFECT: Four cards are shown to be face down. In "Twisting Tha Aces" fashion, they
are caused to turn face up, one at a time. Just as quickly, they turn back face down. As if to explain how the trick was done, you turn the cards face up and deal them to the table showing only four cards. The surprise comes now, all the faces have been replaced by beautiful bright mylar of different colors.

The only effect I can think of:

A rainbow deck is introduced to the audience and spread on the table. A rainbow deck that isn't made of different cards, but cards resembling the colours of a rainbow.
A volunteer thinks of any colour. The performer collects the deck, twists it, and spreads it again. All cards changed to the thought of colour.

Variation
Any card at any colour
The participant thinks of a colour and a value, the selection matches. The card is removed and the deck I gathered by the performer. The next phase shows that this was the only possible outcome, as all other cards changed to the same coloured back design.
Sincerely,

the mind of a hypocritical paradox,
portraying the art of serious mischief.

Is this the "Rainbow Deck" that you could be looking for?
