If you have time, you might want to find a local Dale Carnegie group in your area. While his organization is a lot more than what it used to be it is also a public speaking group. I learned a lot in college about being in front of complete strangers from these folks. If that doesn't work, there are probably several books on the subject of public speaking as well.
With the right skills, you can focus on the magic, and I guarantee things will go better for you. Deerbourne |

As everyone says above, being nervous is extremely natural, and it shouldn't bother you too much. Richard Osterlind has been doing magic for over 30 years, and before he goes onto stage he is still nervous up to the day. So do not worry. It's part of being a performer.
When Eddie Murphy was doing stand-up comedy, he was well established and very well known. But before he went up on stage he was basically wetting himself backstage. |
