It won't take much potassium Chloride salt to saturate a liquid fluid. You just slowly sprinkle it in while stirring the fluid and stop when it no longer dissolves.
What are you trying to achieve? There are several different ways to use metal salts for color flame instead of saturating a liquid fuel. It can be suspended in a fuel gel (for example, hand sanitizer). A pile of the salt can be made and the liquid or gel fuel can be added on top. A highly saturated water solution can be made and a wick or cotton ball placed in this and then dried. Then this can be saturated with liquid fluid. And it can even be done with just dry components by using potassium chlorate instead of potassium Chloride. |

I'm trying to change the color of the fire I eat in my shows. This way was recommended to me by another performer, that has heard it works but never tried it themselves.

I've use potassium chloride and the other metal salts for creating effects in production pans and as part of a science show. But I don't know the techniques for doping fuel for fire eater application. Hopefully someone else with specific knowledge can chime in. |

So far it's all been theory and conjecture, like an episode of In Search of..
I've tried a few different ways and none have worked. |
