I just received this email from Stephen Minch in response to an inquiry about the availability of "Mnemonica" (Juan Tamariz's book on his memorized deck):

We are sending Tamariz's "Mnemonica" to the printer tomorrow. It should be ready for shipping in early September. The price will be $65.00 + $6.00 postage. Thanks for your interest in our publications!

Woo-hoo!

Will it only be available through him or could a local store order it for me?

Thank God. That's only two months away, still a bit too long for me to wait. Looks like I'll have to stick with Aronson until then. Smile

Dave, I'm sure the online shops will get it around the same time or slightly later.

I recently proofread both volumes of Mnemonica for Stephen Minch, and I can tell you that the books are great. Anyone looking for some serious magic/gambling effects with memorized decks are in for a treat. Typical Tamariz excellence.

I for one am gagging for this book! Tamariz's books are instant classics, always offering something CREATIVE, something PROFOUND, something BRILLIANT and something ORIGINAL. He is the greatest magician to walk the earth.

Maybe the Ascanio book will also come out in the next couple of months, and you people will see that, that is the real book you should have been waiting for all this time!

There will be only one big book, not two, according to what I have heard.

I plan on using the free application "StackView" to start work on memorizing Juan's deck (it's built into the program along with several others) so that when the book comes out I'll be ready for it.

StackView can be found at http://www.stackview.com

No doubt.

Wow, that is great. I have read so much about this man but only secondhand, i.e., in Card College.

It will be great to pick something up by him.

Though I imagine there will be an explosion of his effects 'round these parts, shortly!

Can an index of subjects and effects be found?

Slightly off subject, but does anyone here know if the third book in Tamariz's trilogy, "The Magic Rainbow", was ever published either in English or Spanish? He is one of the great thinkers in magic, and I want to get everything by him that I can.

Tamariz uses sometimes different serial names on his books, for example “Sonata” and “Sinfonia en Mnemonica Mayor” belong to the series “Musica Bruja” (Witch Music).
I do not know about “The Magic Rainbow”
These are the Tamariz’ titles in Spanish I know, please feel free to correct or add any missing title:

Is the Tamariz stack mnemonics any easier than any other mnemonic stacks... ie aronson... nikola... etc etc... I wanted to get the book when it was in spanish... but I would have a hard time translating the mnemonics from spanish to english in my head on the fly... ugh... Are the tricks dependent specifically on his stack or can I use my already memorized stack?
