A number of years ago I bought the DVD version of Retina but misplaced it. I recently purchased the download version from Penguin because I remembered how much I enjoyed this program and wanted to watch it again.

My thoughts:

Retina is a master class on how to secretly obtain information written on your business card, and how to reveal that information in a mysterious and entertaining way. Looch covers quite a few different methods, handlings, subtleties and routines that make this a wonderful course to study.

I've bought so much material over the years on mentalism with billets, and this program is on my short list of favorites. I love combining methods and ideas to come up with something that works well for my own style and preferences, and there are a number of concepts taught in Retina that I found particularly valuable.

The methods and routines shown can be used for so much more than drawing duplications. There are many applications for the creative performer.

One of the methods taught is called H****, which requires a gimmick to be made. I had a light bulb moment that allowed me to replace the gimmick with something I learned in a different video and an additional idea I came up with on my own, resulting in no need for any gimmick or gaff at all. I love when that happens

One of the highlights of this program are multiple live performances throughout. Some look to have been recorded on a college campus, others shot in the studio. Seeing the methods and routines performed live is always valuable for me.
