Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some guidance on a drawing duplication effect where the mentalist does the drawing BEFORE the spectator like is seen here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ig3QUPc......qJJ/view Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Currently I use a p*ek wallet but that involves the spectator drawing first and then me drawing after. Does anyone have insights into achieving this type of effect? Thanks |

If you want to draw before the audience member then you're going to either need to have forced the image somehow (Inertia, DFB, Snaps, Mentalist Symbol Pack, etc...), or be able to use vague language to implant what you want them to draw as you draw it. It's unclear which of these the performer in the video did, though given the many edits and cuts, I'd guess it's the latter. The reactions at the end, especially from the drawer himself is more of polite smiling than true astonishment. This suggests to me that his drawing was "coached" by the performer.
If you were going to go the force route, I would try to build in distance between the forcing of the thing being drawn and then your drawing and then their drawing. Otherwise, the only explanation is that the idea was forced. |

Yes I thought about pre-show or stooge but the spectator is one of the most famous F1 drivers in the world and I think it is unlikely he's either in on it or has been coached beforehand. Similarly, it seems too high risk to use a verbal force. My main main thoughts were that the information is p*aked, >> magician draws something >> spectator draws it again? If its not that them I'm stumped hahah. I've never seen a duplication effect where the magician draws it before.

Hello,
I have watched a good number of this performer's short videos where he predicts clothing worn, objects, animals, etc., and my best guess would be what you have eluded to in your response above - maybe an i*p p*d so it is really simple, then when the video is recorded, with some timed misdirection, he goes into the reveal. |

Yep still thinking about this!
It could be a word is freely thought of and then pe*ked >> magician draws the word >> instructs spectator to do the same; then chances are the drawings are going to be pretty similar. But I do love the presentation where the magician draws his prediction beforehand, and this is not something I've seen anyone else do in this closeup setting. Does anyone know of some performances or routines that follow this line of presentation e.g. prediction drawn first? Thanks |
