I'm have ideas of creating new packet tricks. I'm looking for Bicycle playing cards with completely different back designs while the fronts look exactly like regular Bicycle cards. The fronts should have the standard Bicycle 808 Ace of Spades, pips, and court card images. I already own various colored Bicycle Rider Backs (Green, Orange, Silver, Gold, Berry, Breeze, Purple, etc.), but I'm seeking decks with totally different back designs, such as dogs, bull's eyes, people (not cupids) riding bicycles, etc. etc. etc. I realize that I could create these by splitting cards to make gaffs, but I'm looking for "whole decks" as splitting cards myself is too tedious and hiring someone to do it is too costly. I could also glue two cards together, but I want the thickness to be like a regular Bicycle card. Any leads? .

Thanks EJohn for that direction, however, I am looking for 1 deck not to have different backs. (Joshua Jay's PRISM Deck is similar to this Rainbow Deck that you as well.) However, I am looking for each deck (54 cards) having the SAME unique back-side, but the front-side of every card has classic Bicycle 808 designs (Jokers, Ace of Spades, etc.). .

Over quite a few years I assembled a set of 52 decks with standard Bicycle faces but with different backs. Many are readily available including a somewhat new set of colored backs from USPC. But there are Tally-Ho?s in a couple of back designs and many others. In general the ace of spades differs from the 808 design although the decks in the color series have 808 style aces of spades. I think the NOC cards have standard Bike faces too.
The face design of the Bikes is public domain. So you can use them to create your own decks. The Phoenix cards are a good example. The back design of the 808s is copyrighted and USPC won't allow variations on it any longer. No more marked decks or Paul Harris angels etc. You're free to design your own backs and use the standard faces in creating your own deck. You won't be able to use the ace of spades, though. Not sure about the joker. Mike

Thanks for the tips & education, Mike. Splitting just 1 card (Ace of Spades) and maybe 2 Jokers is much more reasonable to do, than 54 cards. This can be a great help. Thanks again. .

You don't necessarily need to do any splitting. You could get the AS and Jokers printed to your requirements.

Prior to the last 5-8 years, new decks often had regular number cards and face cards. Unfortunately, a great many new decks that are being produced now and in recent years have faces that differ from the standard Bicycle deck face. I have noticed there are some that do have standard number cards, but they use color variations on face cards.

The term "standard Bicycle deck face", used a few posts above, is I believe a bit misleading. It could be interpreted to mean that the standard faces first appeared on Bicycle decks, and therefore "belong" to USPCC).
My understanding is that the standard faces have existed for a very long time and been used by many card creators before Bicycles. Deck designers make their decks distinct by the back designs obviously, AND often the AS, and Jokers. In some cases they customise all the Aces (eg Phoenix). Sometimes they customise the court cards too. And the most extreme case is also to redesign the number cards. So strictly speaking we should speak of "standard faces as used by Bicycle" rather than "standard Bicycle faces". |

The vast majority of decks coming out of USPCC have Bicycle faces.
You can look on most card sites and in general a product page will show a glimpse of the faces. This info is not difficult to find. |
